# Op Stack

### Overview

The OP Stack is an open-source, modular framework developed by[ Optimism](https://docs.optimism.io/) for building high-performance Optimistic Rollups on Ethereum. It allows developers to deploy scalable Layer 2 solutions with ease, offering significant improvements in throughput and transaction costs while maintaining Ethereum compatibility.

**Key Features**

* **Ethereum Equivalence:** Full compatibility with Ethereum smart contracts and tooling, enabling seamless deployment without code modifications.
* **High Performance:** Achieves transaction speeds up to 10-100 times faster than Ethereum Mainnet.
* **Low Fees:** Reduces transaction costs significantly through optimized data compression and batch processing.
* **Modular Design:** Offers flexibility to customize and extend functionalities according to project needs.

**Benefits**

When deploying a rollup using the OP Stack on our platform:

* **Easy Deployment:** Set up your Optimistic Rollup quickly through our intuitive interface.
* **Customization:** Choose your preferred data availability layer and configure parameters to suit your project’s needs.
* **Support for Superchain Vision:** Option to opt into Optimism’s Superchain, a future network of interoperable chains.

**Documentation**

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.glitchd.network/glitchd-products/rollup-deployment/rollup-frameworks/op-stack.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
